St. Brigid’s is taking part in the first ever Cyber Break Day which is happening this Friday 16th October

Organised  by CyberSafe Ireland and Permanent TSB, for 24 hours beginning at 5pm on Friday the 16th, families across Ireland will be switching off their devices replacing screen time with offline family fun. Cyber Break can be a break for you and your family to swap your screens and devices for a day of family fun.

We would be delighted if our St. Brigid’s families took part!

CyberSafe Ireland recently published its latest annual report and one of the key findings contained in the report shows that children are extremely active online. They found that 93% of 8–12 year olds own their own smart device, 65% are on social media and more than 70% are gaming online. So the aim of Cyber Break Day is the importance of maintaining a happy and healthy balance between our online and offline worlds and reminds us to stay mindful and vigilant of the potential risks and negative activities that exist online.
