National Tree Week

Mrs. Mac Donagh

We were very excited during the week to receive a delivery of 300 bare root whips courtesy of the Castleknock Tidy Towns Association.

This was in conjunction with National Tree Week and the hope is that the boys and girls will plant their trees all around the local area this week. There was a mix of Whitethorn, Blackthorn, Alder, Hazel and Birch trees.

Children from Ms. Dooley’s 4th class did a great job sorting all the trees into boxes for the 5th & 6th class pupils.

Our student Council members then explained to their classmates what they needed to do and the steps involved in planting their bare root whips before distributing them to all of the 5th & 6th class students.

We look forward to seeing these trees growing strong and prospering over the next number of years, just like our students!!
